Bastrop - Boring Company Hyperloop Plaza

Bastrop is about a 45 minute drive from Austin and home to the Boring Company, an Elon Musk company that digs holes.  It's a large open space that has a pickleball court, corn throw game, darts, playground with a fun playscape for kids.  The bodega has a good selection of snacks, prepared and small selection of hot food.  There was everything needed for a road trip from a large variety of drinks and necessities, including dog treats.  Picked up a few Water Buffalo Hornz for the dogs, they really enjoyed them. I like seeing all the local food products for Texas gift giving ideas.  There is a Tesla fragrance bottle called 'Burnt Hair' that is on a roped off display for an added laugh.

If you're hungry for BBQ drive a few miles down the road to Elgin for a taste of the state's best old school joints - Meyer's Elgin Smokehouse and Southside Market.  Both provide the ultimate craving for smoked brisket, sausage, pork, sides and desserts.
