Spicy Miso Chicken Wings
Miso, ginger, and garlic infuse these wings with a unique funkiness, making it worthwhile to let the marinade work its magic overnight for that full-flavored impact when they're smoked the following day.
Ingredients
- 2/3 C white miso paste
- 1/4 C sake
- 3 T monk fruit brown sugar
- 2 T rice vinegar
- 1/2 t sea salt
- 1/2 t black pepper
- 1/4 t cayenne pepper
- 1/4 C minced garlic
- 1/4 C minced ginger
- 1 orange, juiced and zested
- 1/2 C light soy
- 3/4 C dark soy sauce
- 2 T sesame oil
- 24 chicken wings
Directions
- In a bowl, place the miso paste, sake, brown sugar, vinegar, salt, pepper and cayenne.
- Add the garlic, ginger, orange juice and zest, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce and sesame oil. Mix well and set aside
- Add wings to the bowl and marinate overnight.
- Set smoker to 400 F
- Dry the wings with paper towel and place on smoker about 35-45 minutes. The internal temperature should be 165 F and should be a beautiful golden brown.
