The drive was longer than we planned, but it was absolutely worth it for the road trip to meet Kevin Bludso and Rasheed Phillips in the stunning waterfront setting, with the aroma of smoked meats in the air. It was special to join the intimate gathering and celebrate Kevin's BBQ cookbook.  As Seahawks fans, we expected a bit of ribbing from Cowboys fans, good food always brings people together regardless of what team they cheer for.  That whole hog was something special as well as the huge smoker it was cooked in.  The skin was crispy!

I'm a big fan of this cookbook https://amzn.to/3vPA6bj and highly recommend it. He shares his experience and tips for seasoning.  I am afraid of open fire and will stick with my pellet smoker, will leave that to the experts.  I appreciate the tips and have made many of the proteins.  The camaraderie among the BBQ community is heartwarming, and it's great to see their mutual support. The Harbor Restaurant is a relaxing spot, and Kevin often cooks there when he's not in California.
