Tri Tip - Perfect weeknight dinner
Being able to throw a tri tip in the smoker for 45 minutes with minimal effort is so rewarding for a weeknight meal. No fuss, just season, set the probe and unwind until the probe says it's dinner time.
Ingredients
- Tri tip
- Hardcore Carnivore Black
Directions
- Set pellet smoker to 425 F.
- Season with rub. I like the simple balance of seasonings in Jess Pryles' Black, nothing else is needed.
- Place on rack on a cookie sheet for easy handling and clean up.
- Set probe in thickest part of tri tip, set internal temperature to 135 F.
- Takes about 45 minutes to reach IT and then 5 minutes to rest.
- Cut against the grain and serve.
