The Brasserie at Hotel 1928 - Waco
This is another fantastic Chip and Joanna Gaines project renovating the historic hotel. Drove to Waco for lunch at the new Magnolia hotel day before Easter at the Brasserie to the left of the lobby. We timed it right since no reservations were needed to be seated immediately. The food and service were fantastic. There was a bachelorette party, and the staff knew how to keep those ladies happy. The design is so thoughtful down to the detailed heavy duty brass hook for Texas sized handbags in the lady's bathroom stall door.
it's a nice small menu not to get overwhelmed. The Korean chicken wings were medium spicy and sticky, I felt guilty making a mess on the cloth napkins. The 1928 Burger with black peppered bacon, cheddar, green tomato jam, house sauce, hand cut fries is so filling. Could taste every flavor and the meat is just so good.
Next time we hope to make it to the roof top when it opens after lunch where Bertie's on the Rooftop is for dinner.
We walked around the block to see the City building, such cool architecture.
