Korean Marinated Boiled Eggs

 

Been craving boiled eggs with a savory, spicy flavor.  I like the simplicity of ingredients that is easy to snack on or pop into a bowl of noodles drizzled with extra marinade from the eggs. The garlic, sesame oil and chili pepper flakes are a tasty combination.

Ingredients

  • 9 eggs
  • 1 head of garlic, minced
  • 1 bunch of green onions, chopped 
  • 1 T sesame seeds
  • 1 T Korean chili pepper flakes
  • 1 C shoyu
  • ½ C honey
  • 1 T sesame oil
  • ½ C water 

 

Directions

  1. Bring pot of water to a boil and add eggs for 6 minutes.
  2. Immediately remove eggs and let it rest in a bowl of ice water for at least 10 minutes. Peel carefully and set them aside. 
  3. In a shallow glass container, add garlic, chopped green onion, shoyu, chili pepper flakes, honey, sesame oil, and water. Mix till everything is combined. Add in the peel eggs and making sure the eggs are covered in the marinade. Let the eggs rest in the fridge for a few hours.
  4. Serve with a bowl of hot rice, noodles or a snack.
